Burnley have completed the signing of Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford on a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year-old striker, who had two loan spells at Crystal Palace and Norwich City last season, was not expected to play first team football at Chelsea, and has been loaned out to Burnley.

Bamford also attracted interest from Aston Villa, but he was insistent on joining Premier League club after getting a taste of English top division football in the 2015/16 campaign.

He made just 13 Premier League appearances last term, and will be hoping to play more first team football at Burnley, despite the presence of Sam Vokes and Andre Gray in Sean Dyche’s team.

Dyche will be hoping that the young striker adds more firepower to his newly promoted Burnley side as he looks to make sure that they survive in the Premier League this season.

Bamford joined the Chelsea academy from Nottingham Forest in 2012, and is yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues.

Apart from spells at Norwich and Crystal Palace, Bamford also played a season of Championship football at Middlesbrough, and has also turned out for Derby County.

He has also represented England in youth football across age groups, but is nowhere close to breaking into the senior team at the moment.
