Marseille are fighting tooth and nail to convince highly rated defender Boubacar Kamara to put pen to paper on a professional contract at the club.

Just 17 years old, Kamara is already the captain of the club's Under-19 side, who have progressed to the final of this season's Gambardella tournament, where they will meet Montpellier at the end of this month.

He is being monitored by Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Southampton and Borussia Dortmund, who spy an opportunity to steal Marseille's young jewel.

The French giants had offered Kamara a deal worth €12,000 per month and a signing on bonus of €24,000 – but it did not do the trick.

Now, according to French daily La Provence, Marseille have vastly improved their offer as they go all out to keep Kamara at the Stade Velodrome.

The deal contains a larger signing on bonus and runs for three years.

Kamara is yet to give the club his response over their new offer.

The defender's suitors are sure to be watching matters closely and Marseille have now put the ball firmly in the youngster's court.
