Incoming Inter Milan coach Luciano Spalletti has made Roma defender Antonio Rudiger his transfer priority.

The ex-Roma boss previously worked with Rudiger at the Stadio Olimpico and now wants to reunite with his former charge at the San Siro.

Inter sporting director Walter Sabatini has also given his approval to the move; he helped Roma to bring in Rudiger from Stuttgart initially on a loan deal in 2015 during his time at the Stadio Olimpico.

As a result, there will be fresh talks between Inter and Rudiger’s agents this week, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.

It has been claimed that Rudiger, who has been linked with a move to Premier League champions Chelsea, is ready to say yes to his move to Inter, but the 24-year-old has not requested a transfer.

Although Rudiger’s entourage enjoy an excellent relationship with Roma sporting director Monchi, the centre-back is keeping the door open to a move away from the club.

However, Rudiger, whose present contract with Roma runs until 2020, is aware that the Giallorossi rate him at €40m.

Inter are yet to find an agreement with Roma regarding the possibility of Rudiger’s transfer.
