Dutch top flight club Vitesse are looking to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Eduardo on a permanent basis.

Eduardo is currently on loan at Vitesse from Premier League giants Chelsea, but his contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire next summer.

Vitesse are pleased with the 36-year-old and want to keep him, something which means they have now firmly kicked off discussions to sign him permanently, according to Dutch daily De Gelderlander.

Eduardo is claimed to be open to a permanent move to Vitesse.

The shot-stopper has made 20 appearances across all competitions this season for Vitesse, keeping four clean sheets.

Vitesse currently sit in seventh place in the Eredivisie, after 15 games, and are just three points off fourth place in a tightly-congested group below third placed Feyenoord.

Eduardo has not made a single senior appearance for Chelsea, but has turned out for the club's Under-23 side in the Premier League 2.
