The Toffees are set to take on non-league side Boreham Wood in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Thursday evening and will start as firm favourites to progress.

A win against the Borehamwood outfit would see Lampard’s side needing juts one more win to book a place in the final at Wembley.

And Lampard has revealed that Everton star Richarlison told him how desperate he is to play at Wembley for the Merseyside giants.

Lampard added that Wembley is a magical place, something which he experienced as a player and stressed all his charges are aiming towards reaching it.

Asked whether he thinks a chance to play for Everton at Wembley must be a good incentive for his players, Lampard told a press conference: “Of course, of course

“I was speaking to Richarlison earlier and chatting football and things and he was saying how desperate he is to play at Wembley and that is because of the history of Wembley.

“I am fortunate as a player. I have got to play there a lot and it is a magical place but we are two rounds, two games away from doing that.

“So, we treat Boreham Wood with respect.

“There are some tough teams whoever you are going to play in the draw for next round but that carrot is the one that we all have to aim towards.”

Everton go into Thursday’s clash as firm favourites against Boreham Wood, who are looking to spring another surprise in the competition having knocked out Championship promotion hopefuls Bournemouth in the last round.
