Having knocked out La Liga champions Atletico Madrid in the Champions league quarter finals, Manchester City are now set to lock horns with another giant of Europe in the semi-finals of the competitions in the shape of Real Madrid.

The Cityzens will host the 13-time European champions at the Etihad Stadium in the first leg of the tie on Tuesday, as they continue their quest for a first ever Champions League trophy.

Manchester City midfielder Rodri knows Real Madrid well from his time playing for Atletico Madrid and stressed they are a dangerous side even if they might not be dominating the entire 90 minutes.

Rodri explained that Los Blancos know how to bide their time to deal a devastating blow to really hurt opponents, which means that Manchester City need to be on their toes throughput the two legs against the Spaniards.

Asked what makes Real Madrid dangerous, Rodri told Spanish daily Sport: “We know perfectly well how they play and how experienced they are in this competition, but they also know how to suffer and wait until their time comes to hurt you

“It is one of their best qualities.

“They may not be dominant throughout the 90 minutes, but they are always dangerous.

“We have to be alert and make the best of the first leg at home.”

Manchester City were able to beat Real Madrid 4-2 on aggregate when they last met each other in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
