With Maxwel Cornet likely to leave, Burnley are pushing to bring in Benson as a potential replacement for the winger.

Vincent Kompany is an admirer of the Belgian winger and Burnley have had several bids rejected by Antwerp in the last few days.

There were claims on Monday night that a breakthrough has been achieved in the talks and Burnley have managed to agree on a fee with Antwerp for the transfer.

But according to Belgian daily Het Nieuwsblad, no such deal is in place between the two clubs for Benson’s transfer.

The talk of any imminent move has been nipped in the bud as the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement over a fee.

The negotiations are still ongoing and Burnley are still pressing forward with their efforts to sign Benson.

But the winger still does not have Antwerp’s signal to travel to England for the completion of the transfer.

The Clarets remain confident of getting a deal done but for the moment, the two clubs are yet to agree on a fee.
