The Norwegian is considered to be one of the best young attackers in the world and the Citizens won the race for his signature ahead of this season.

Haaland has gained notoriety as a prolific goalscorer at both domestic and European level and Leeds centre-back Koch is among the long list of defenders that he could battle it out on the pitch with as he gears up for his first taste of Premier League football.

Koch revealed that he is looking forward to facing the Manchester City new boy this season and stressed that defenders like himself have to deal with top strikers in all the games when it comes to the Premier League.

“Definitely [I am looking forward to testing myself against Haaland]”, Koch told Sky Deutschland.

“You play against top strikers in every game here anyway, so you look forward to all duels – including the one against Erling Haaland.”

Koch insists that the Premier League is the best league in the world and it has only got stringer with the addition of top players like Haaland.

“I do believe that the Premier League is the best league – especially with the transfers that have been made in the last two to three years.

“Now again with Erling Haaland.

“The trend is that the Premier League is getting stronger.”

In addition to Haaland, Koch could also come up against one of his former Whites team-mates when Leeds take on Manchester City as Kalvin Phillips left Elland Road to join the Citizens this summer.
