The 20-year-old midfielder spent the latter half of last season on loan at Cardiff City and made 19 appearances while netting two goals and providing three assists.

Manchester City youngster Doyle signed a season-long loan deal with Sheffield United this season and has made five outings for Paul Heckingbottom’s side so far.

The England Under-21 international missed a large portion of the Blades’ pre-season due to a thigh injury, but he has worked his way back to fitness and started the last two games for Sheffield United.

Doyle stated that everyone at Sheffield United is committed to bringing the Blades back to the Premier League and revealed that everyone holds themselves to a high standard.

“The goal is to get this club back to the Premier League”, Doyle told Yorkshire Live.

“I have been thinking about it since I came here and I am not the only one who is thinking of it.

“Everyone here has the same mentality, which is important for me.

“I knew this before I came in from speaking to Rhian [Brewster] and Morgan [Gibbs-White] previously.

“I just think we have high expectations of ourselves, high expectations from the fans and everybody in the league and it’s exciting.”

Heckingbottom’s side are currently top of the Championship table and the Blades are unbeaten in their last seven league games.
