The 19-year-old midfielder made the switch to Chelsea in the summer after rejecting an offer of a new contract from Aston Villa.

The Midlands club were left with little option, but to cash in on him and the teenager has so far made three appearances for the Blues, being involved in the senior team.

Graham Potter is gradually blooding him into his plans and he came on for a cameo towards the end in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United last weekend.

Chelsea fans have seen very little of the young midfielder, but Nevin stressed that everyone should watch out for his development.

He insisted that Chukwuemeka is a serious talent who has the pace and power to trouble any team.

Nevin said on Off the Ball: “By the way, watch out for him, jeez!

“He has got power and he has got pace.”

Chukwuemeka has represented England at youth level and has 13 caps at Under-19 level.

He will be looking to kick on with his development over the coming months.
