The 24-year-old centre forward has been in excellent form this season and has scored 13 goals in 29 outings so far for Coventry City.

Gyokeres has attracted interest from Everton in the ongoing window as they are in search of a frontman to solve their goalscoring issues.

Prutton is of the opinion that Gyokeres would be an excellent fit at Sean Dyche’s Everton and emphasised that the midfielder has the capacity to engage the opposition’s back four on his own.

The former Coventry star also believes that the 24-year-old is strong and tall with a knack for scoring goals and is confident that Gyokeres would be loved at Everton for his work ethic.

“Will he be a good fit for Everton?”, Prutton told Sky Sports.

“Very much so.

“He can occupy a back four on his own.

“He’s big, he’s strong, he knows exactly where the goal is.

“He’s got a work ethic that Everton would absolutely adore right now and he’d make a wonderful addition – although Coventry love him to bits!”

It remains to be seen whether Everton will be able to snare the forward away from Coventry City before the end of transfer deadline day.
