Colombia striker Morelos is set to leave the club at the end of the season after his contract with the Ibrox-based club expires.
Morelos’ commitment to the club in recent months has come under the scanner with the manager himself going on to criticise the player following his performance off the bench against Aberdeen.
McManus on his part has put a question mark over Beale’s decision to put Morelos, who will be leaving, on the pitch at all.
A young player from the academy with more hunger compared to Morelos would be a better choice, McManus feels.
“I think he [Beale] is just speaking candidly and honestly but I think Rangers supporters have seen that all season”, McManus said on PLZ Soccer.
“He is not at it. He doesn’t look fit, doesn’t look sharp, doesn’t look hungry, so I totally agree with him.
“But why is he playing him? Why is he putting him on the pitch?
“Is there not a player in the B team who is hungry or maybe has got a future? Why is he playing Morelos? He is not going to be there.
“He obviously doesn’t rate him, he is not going to be there, he slaughtered him after the game, why is he putting him on?”
Morelos has so far featured in 44 games for Rangers this season making 19 goal contributions and will depart Ibrox on a free transfer.
