The Villans are mulling over a loan with an option-to-buy deal for the Italian midfielder after Emi Buendia’s potential eight-month lay-off due to an injury.
Aston Villa president of football operations Monchi has been an admirer of Zaniolo since his time at Roma.
And the Villans manager Unai Emery is also keen on securing the star midfielder’s services this summer.
Besides Aston Villa, Zaniolo is also of interest to Zenit and Juventus and according to Turkish daily Milliyet, Galatasaray are warm to jettisoning the Italian before the transfer window slams shut.
The Istanbul giants only brought in the midfielder from Roma in February this year, but it is said that they are prepared to sell the Italian star after their capture of Tete.
Zenit’s offer to Galatasaray for Zaniolo is said to be higher than that of Aston Villa and now it is suggested that the decision about a potential switch is up to the midfielder.
With Galatasaray being warm to letting Zaniolo go permanently this summer, all eyes will be on Emery’s side to see how they measure their next stride for the Italian next.
