Celtic legend Chris Sutton has admitted that being without Cameron Carter-Vickers against Rangers on Saturday is an “enormous blow” for the Bhoys.

Carter-Vickers was forced off during Celtic’s 3-0 victory over Dundee on Boxing Day and Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed he will miss the next two games.

That means that the Scottish champions will be without the influential defender for Saturday’s derby meeting with Rangers.

Being without the defender is something that former Celtic striker Sutton believes is a huge blow for the Bhoys, as they shape up for a potentially pivotal match.

Sutton took to X to react to the news and wrote: “Enormous blow for Celtic losing the best defender in the league by a stretch.”

Rangers’ improved form under new boss Philippe Clement means they are now just five points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, but crucially have two games in hand.

Celtic have lost just once in the Scottish Premiership at home this season, while Rangers have also lost just once on the road.

The Gers though have conceded only twice away from home in the league, while Celtic have conceded eight times at Celtic Park.
