Former Scottish top flight star Tam McManus has dubbed Liverpool’s Owen Beck a “tremendous player” and thinks Dundee will feel his absence.

Beck has been in good form for the Dee this season, featuring in 17 of the 18 Scottish Premiership matches the club have played.

Liverpool have now decided to recall Beck from his loan spell and he has headed back to Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side currently have left-backs Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas out through injuries and it remains to be seen what their plans are with Beck.

Former Hibernian attacker McManus has seen Beck in action with Dundee and thinks the Liverpool star is a superb player.

And McManus thinks losing Beck will be a blow for Dundee, writing on X: “Tremendous player, big blow for the Dee.”

Beck was able to make as many as four-goal contributions from the back for Tony Docherty’s side.

Dundee will now have to try and fill the hole that Beck has left by returning to Liverpool this month.
