Sheffield Wednesday have joined the race for West Ham United star Conor Coventry, but they are not the front-runners for the Derby County and Charlton Athletic target’s signature, according to the Star.
Coventry is a product of the West Ham academy system and the defensive midfielder has made ten senior appearances for the Hammers.
The 23-year-old is a centre of attraction for several League One and Championship outfits in the ongoing window.
Paul Warne’s Derby County, who are eyeing promotion this season, are looking to strengthen their midfield with Coventry’s presence in it.
Charlton have also joined the race for the West Ham midfielder’s signature as Michael Appleton is looking to reshuffle his squad in January.
Sheffield Wednesday are in a relegation battle and Danny Rohl wants to bring in reinforcements quickly to help the Owls keep themselves up.
And it has been claimed that Hammers midfielder Coventry is on Sheffield Wednesday’s list, but they are not the front-runners to land him.
Last season, Coventry spent the second half of the campaign with Championship outfit Rotherham and the player has experience playing in League One as well.
