Charlton Athletic have made a play to secure the signature of Cheltenham Town striker Will Goodwin, according to the South London Press.
Addicks boss Michael Appleton is in the market to add to his squad during this month’s transfer window as he looks to mastermind a rise up the League One standings.
Appleton’s eyes have been drawn towards League One rivals Cheltenham, where striker Goodwin is of interest.
Charlton have now taken the step of putting in an offer to Cheltenham for Goodwin.
However, despite slapping in a proposal for the striker, no deal has yet been agreed for Goodwin to make the move to the Valley.
The 21-year-old has found the back of the net six times in 16 outings in League One so far this season, as well as providing two assists for his team-mates.
Goodwin played and scored against Charlton in League One in November and appears to have impressed the Addicks.
The striker has also turned out at League Two and National League level in addition to now playing in League One.
