Rangers will not have to contend with competition from Aberdeen for a player they are chasing as the Dons are not in for him, according to journalist Scott Burns.
Philippe Clement wants further signings in through the door at Ibrox before the transfer window closes, though the financial scope of those signings is heavily dependent upon whether or not the Gers can reach the Champions League league stage.
The Gers are currently looking south of the border for an option to improve their midfield, with Chelsea the focus.
Blues midfield talent Leo Castledine is the subject of negotiations between the two as Rangers try to loan him with a possible option to buy.
Chelsea are opposed to the option and it has been claimed that Aberdeen are also interested and also more likely to want a straight loan.
That talk though is wide of the mark and the Dons are not chasing the attacking midfielder.
Aberdeen have been slow on the signings from this summer and fresh faces are eagerly awaited at Pittodrie by fans.
England Under-19 international Castledine though, who scored ten times in 18 Premier League 2 outings last term, does not look like being one of them.
